What To Do When Your Heart Aches

What To Do When Your Heart Aches

We all experience heartbreaks. At varying levels, every painful, heart-breaking experience is unique to each of us–male or female, young or old, never had a boyfriend or have always been in love.

But regardless of our unique stories, heartbreaks in general bring a certain pain we cannot underestimate.

This pain, when not dealt with carefully, can either turn you into a bitter person or a person who thinks love is not for everyone.

Dealing with pain does not guarantee we won’t experience heartaches ever again. But it’s important to process it in a way that will make us feel better about what happened or even thankful for what is happening. Not because we’re any better than the person who have hurt us or we’re greater than the situation we are in, but simply, we trust that God wouldn’t place us in a journey without creating something beautiful from it. And so we wait in the Lord.

In the midst of our heartbreaking experiences, it’s extremely hard to keep silent. But even so, His still small voice will resonate if we just try, even just for a second, to listen. 100% of the time when He’s telling us something, He is bringing us closer to His will. He fights the silence with His rock-solid Word.

“And yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.”  Isaiah 64:8

30 indescribable years gave me some many realizations, and most of them came from those chapters I would call, “Potter Moments.”  Times in my life when God mercifully molded me the way He knows best. I may have gotten hurt or sad in the process, but He never leaves me undone. I am the clay, He is my Potter. And I am forever in His hands.

If you’re fighting a disease or wanting a cure for your illness, know that God is in control of the intricate details inside your body.  Make Him your Great Doctor. Your Healer. Your Deliverer. Trust His timing and His ways. He knows what you are going through.

If you’re getting failing grades in school or feeling left out, move forward. Don’t give up the fight because you are not fighting the battle alone. Like David who faced and defeated Goliath, God will give you that single shot you need to succeed. It may not be the kind of success the world dictates, but it’s a triumph that would make you honor and praise the God you serve.

If your heart is aching because he or she doesn’t love you back, cry it out. Yes, those tears won’t hurt. Acknowledge the pain. Give yourself time. Pray. And feed your soul with God’s Promises. You can depend on Him, take refuge in Him while you’re heavily disappointed about that person or yourself. Let it go–let the person go, let your feelings fade away, let your emotions cool down. Let God take care of it ALL.

It’s easier said than done, I know.

The struggle is real. I’ve been there.

BUT, remember the Potter moment?

Never forget that you are that clay and you are in good hands with Your Potter.

Hang in there, will you? Soon, you’ll be helping others, too if you just hang in there. 🙂

37th Manila International Book Fair

The country’s biggest book event is right around the corner: the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), which heads back to the SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City on Sept. 14-18, 2016.

Now on its 37th year, the MIBF still remains the country’s biggest and longest-running book fair. It showcases the largest and most varied collection of literature for leisure and academic reading. Everything you need from fiction bestsellers, to textbooks, to graphic novels, and even educational materials are all under one roof. Moreover, the MIBF is also the go-to venue for this year’s most awaited book launches and signings, dialogues with readers, contests, and other literary events.)

After three decades, it has evolved from an event for the publishing industry and the academe to one of the most-awaited exhibitions for all sorts of readers. The MIBF has become a gathering of sorts for bookworms of all ages and walks of life to celebrate the joys of reading and the knowledge each book brings about. It has also been providing a venue for the exchange of ideas amongst players in the publishing and academic industry.

How To Pick A Spouse_FA

“HOW TO PICK A SPOUSE” BOOK LAUNCH: True Love Waits Philippines Partner, Pastor Dan Chun has a new book in the Philippines! How To Pick A Spouse. Please share with others about this new book that will have a great practical impact on how you choose the right person for you.

Anyone can get married. However, the goal should not only be to marry—but to marry the right person.

As a singles pastor for more than 6-1/2 years, author Dan Chun worked exclusively with more than 5,000 singles, and of the hundreds who were married under his teaching, less than ten percent got a divorce. Because it incorporates his principles that give a practical and proven way of picking a spouse, this book is your guide to finding—and keeping—a lifelong partner. You will discover how to test your relationship for key differences using a variety of methods including the Seven Cs: Character, Chemistry, Competency, Cultural Differences, Commitment, Communication and Core Values

“Every person I know who isn’t married really needs this book. If you have been married before, and it didn’t work out, then you clearly need this book! But if this is your first marriage, and you are highly unpracticed at picking a wife or husband, you are in great danger if you don’t follow wise decision making principles like you will find here.”

The Manila International Book Fair is the biggest and longest running book fair in the country. First and foremost, the MIBF aims to spread the love for reading among the Filipino public, and judging from the generations of visitors that keep coming back to the book fair each year, it has been successful in doing so.

The MIBF also provides a venue for the exchange of ideas amongst players in the publishing and academic book industry, gathering not just publishers, distributors, booksellers, authors, illustrators, and the academe, but also the end users: students, professionals, and book lovers.

At MIBF, the visitors were given an access to the largest and most varied collection of printed material, educational aids and multimedia, all under one roof. While the academe and professionals had the advantage of comparing prices, negotiating for bulk purchases, and even arranging for delivery without leaving the halls of the book fair. On the other hand the readers and book lovers had a wide variety of choices to suit their reading tastes.

I Will Wait for You
by Janette…Ikz

So it seemed, that it was cool for everyone to be in a relationship but me

So I took matters into my own hands and ended up with him

Him who displayed the characteristics of a cheater, a liar, an abuser, and a thief

So why was I surprised when he broke into my heart?

I called 911, but I was cardiac arrested for aiding and abetting,

‘Cos it was ME who let him in

Claiming we were “just friends.”

It was already decided for me by the first date, that even if he wasn’t…

I was gonna make him ‘The One’

You know, I was tired of being alone

And I simply made up in my mind, that it was about that time

So I decided to drag him along for the ride,

‘Cos I was always the bridesmaid and never the bride.

A virgin in the physical, but mentally just a grown woman on the corner in heat,

Who was tired of the wait!

So I was gonna make him ‘The One’

He had a form of godliness… but not much.

But hey, hey I can change him! So I’ll take him. I mean, he’s close… enough.

Ready to sell my aorta for a quarter, not knowing the value of its use to me

Arteries so clogged with MY will, it blocked His will from flowing through me.

So, I thank Christ that His blood pressure gave this heart an attack,

That flatlined my obscured vision, put me flat on my back

Through my ignorance He sawed through my sternum

He sawed and cracked open my chest to transplant Psalm 51:10

A new heart and a renewed right spirit within!

So now I fully understand,

Better yet I thoroughly comprehend,

How much I need to wait… for you.

See, the bad thing is that I knew he wasn’t you from the beginning..

‘Cos in the beginning was the Word

And he didn’t even sound or shine like Your Son

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks,

And all he could whisper was sweet, empty nothings—

Which meant NOTHING.

He couldn’t even pray when I needed him to

Asking him to fast would be absurd!

So forget about being cleansed and washed with water through the Word…

But I know you.

You were already praying for me

Even never having met me

Let me assure you, I will wait for you.

I will no longer date, socialize or communicate with carbon copies of you

To appease my boredom or to quench my thirstiness I have for attention

And short-lived compliments from ‘sorta kindas’

You know…. He ‘sort kinda’ right, but ‘sorta kinda’ wrong?

His first name Luke,

His last name Warm.

I, I won’t settle for false companionship

I won’t lay in the embrace of his arms,

Attempting to find some closeness,

But never feeling so far apart ‘cos I just wanna be held

‘Cos “all I gotta do is say…” NO!

No more ‘almost sessions’ of ‘almost coming close’

Passing winks and buying drinks,

And I’ma, I’ma, I’ma flirt!

Who flirts with the ideology of

“Can you just tell me how much I can get away with and still be saved?”

I’ll stay in my bed… alone.

And write poems, about how I will wait for you.

He won’t even come close

Our fingers won’t even interlock

We won’t even exchange breath

‘Cos I have thoughts that I’ve “saved as” in a file that God has only equipped you to open.

I will no longer get weighted down,

From so-called friends and family talks,

About the concern for my biological clock,

When I serve the Author of Time.

Who is NOT subject to time,

But I’m subject to Him!

He has the ability to stop, fast forward, pause, or rewind at any given time…

So if we could role play,

You would be Abraham and I would be Sarah

Or you could be Isaac and I could be Rebekah—a servant’s answered prayer

I am bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh,

Made up of your rib Adam!

And once we meet, like electrons,

I will be bound to your nucleus, completely indivisible atom.

We even speak the same math:

1 + 1 + 1 = 3, which really equals 1 if you add Him.

We were all created in His image,

But you have the ability to reflect, project and even detect the Son.

If I were to explain what you looked like,

You would have to look like a star,

A son of the Son…

I would gain energy simply from the light that you shine on me.

I would need you in order to complete my photosynthesis

I await your revelation, but once again from the genesis, I will wait for you.

And I will know you…

Because when you speak I will be reminded of Solomon’s wisdom,

Your ability to lead will remind me of Moses,

Your faith will remind me of Abraham,

Your confidence in God’s Word will remind me of Daniel,

Your inspiration will remind me of Paul,

Your heart for God will remind me of David,

Your attention to detail will remind me of Noah,

Your integrity will remind me of Joseph,

And your ability to abandon your own will, will remind me of the disciples,

But your ability to love selflessly and unconditionally will remind me of Christ.

But I won’t need to identify you by any special Matthews or any special Marks,

‘Cos His Word will be tattooed all over your heart.

And you will know me, and you will find me,

Where the boldness of Esther meets the warm closeness of Ruth,

Where the hospitality of Lydia is aligned with the submission of Mary,

Which is engulfed in the tears of a praying Hannah.

I will be the one, drenched in Proverbs 31… waiting for you.

But to my Father, my Father Who has known me before I was birthed into this earth

Only if You should see fit…

I desire Your will above mine,

So even if You call me to a life of singleness,

My heart is content with You—the One Who was sent.

You are the greatest love story ever told,

The greatest Love ever known

You are forever my Judge and I’m forever Your witness

And I pray that I’m always found on a mission about my Father’s business

Oh, I will always be Yours!

And I will always wait for You Lord, more than the watchmen wait for the morning…

More than the watchmen wait for the morning, I WILL WAIT.
